Alpamayo Trek

Alpamayo: Strenuous trek but wellworth the effort!
This trek goes through many rural villages and shows beautiful mountain scenery. Highlight is the Northface of Mount Alpamayo, considered by many as the most beautiful mountain in the world.
Depending on the chosen route, chosen trailend and side-treks, the trek can take anything from 7 to 12 days
We describe the 7-day version from Hualcayan to Pomabamba. Alternatively we can also arrange to return to Cashapampa through the Santa Cruz Valley (10 days) or to Carhuaz through the Ulta Valley (12 days).
The Cedros(start) and Alpamayo Valley are a lot less visited than any other Valley in the region. You'll meet very few people on the way and if you don't happen to go in July or August, you might have the trail and campsites for your own. (not considering local people of course)

Duration: 9 to 12 days
Highest Altitude: 4.860 m (Punta Osoruri)
Difficulty: Moderate

Our tours are like the ones you would book back home in one of the fancy travel agents.
Our staff is selected not only because of their qualifications but also because of their social skills. You are spending a lot of time together and nothing is worse than a nasty guide or constantly begging donkey driver.
It must be mentioned though, that many local providers do not respect working conditions and exploit their staff and so generate malbehaviour. Needless to say that that doesn't happen with us.
